Previously only used for tomatoes and herbs. The chopped tomatoes took a long time (24 hours) as did the cherry tomato halves, but the herbs were ready pretty quickly! Sun dried tomatoes and mold were gone even three weeks after drying. A little louder than expected, but not annoying. Plastic grids and trays are very easy to clean. I like the timer, but the counter is really useful - after you've made a batch of something and noticed how long it takes you can set a timer for the next run and not have to worry about constantly checking everything or to add. timer sessions. I have extra roller trays for tomatoes but they take longer than regular fine mesh and nothing is lost. So unless you plan on making fruit rolls or drying thick or runny foods, you might not need to do these. I plan to use it a lot more in winter when I can take advantage of the low heat it generates :)
