It's great cage lighting for my hedgehogs. He needs 12 hours of light and 12 hours of darkness so he knows when to sleep (in the light) and when to wake up (in the dark) as they are nocturnal and with the curtains drawn my window would let in too much draft and he has to constantly maintain a temperature of 72-80 degrees. So yeah, he's still cool. i love this light I first tried battery powered flashlights as you can see in the photo but they drained the batteries so quickly. So it was a good option, plugged in and up and running within hours. The switch is good too. This is the lowest setting and it is enabled. Another option would be very bright for a trash can.
