Review on Enhanced Universal WiFi Ceiling Fan Light Remote Control Kit: QIACHIP Upgrade for Alexa, Google Home, Phone – Voice Control, Wireless Fan Speed Lamp Controller with Timing Compatibility by Christopher Lance

It would be great if it worked.

This is an amazing ceiling fan remote except for one critical flaw: it won't connect to Wi-Fi to save your life. My theory is that the radio antenna can't penetrate the metal ceiling fan, or it's just cheap junk from China. Maybe not. What really sucks is that to remove or replace you have to completely remove the fan, which I won't do as it was difficult to install. The installation of the control box itself is fine and the wiring is clear, but the process of removing and installing the fan itself is complicated enough to eat up the $30 price tag. My symptoms are that it beeps 3 times and cannot complete the pairing process. I usually see the Wi-Fi SSID broadcast by the device, but it either can't connect to my home Wi-Fi network or doesn't stay active long enough to connect.

  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Not bad but...
