It was very easy to set up after I found out there is an application that helps to understand it. At first I struggled with the traditional router login method and it was more confusing than I remember. The app allows you to secure your network and shows you everything on your network (aka network map). You can even stand somewhere in your home and check the Wi-Fi signal speed and strength. The built-in reverse current function was great. I have a Netgear plw1000 that I used with my old n router. I tried to get it working with this router but to no avail. I just bought the Arris version to keep things simple. If you can beat the cost, this router is great if you want to build a smart home. I have this network that works without any problems; 1 Revain Echo3 Echo dots4 security camera system, wired computer, 2 tablets, 2 Alexa-enabled WiFi bulbs, WiFi smart sock, WiFi video doorbell, 2 Apple TVs, 2 Smart TVs. Light bulbs. I have no doubt that this will work well. Hope that helps! Oh, and the tri-band feature is simultaneous, which means it automatically switches Wi-Fi bands when a band is loaded, so you don't have to switch bands like older routers. .
