Great Bottle!: Sports & Leisure Accessories

UPDATE 04/01/18 : Downgraded to 4 stars as it has only been a few months and the silicone seal around the lid is a bit deformed so every time I open the bottle, it slips and either has to be put back in manually, or the seal isn't perfect and the bottle will leak if it tips over. I discovered this recently when I realized my bottle had spilled the contents of my purse. I still really like the bottle overall, but it's a bit disappointing that I can't just toss it in my bag with everything else anymore. Now it has to be carried by hand. ORIGINAL RATING: LOVE IT. I've had it for a few days now and have been drinking at least three cups of tea in it every day since. Pros: - Appears to be durable; Only time will tell. - Withstands extreme temperatures (hooray for borosilicate glass!) - Looks cute. - Super comfortable carry handle fits my hand perfectly and is at just the right angle. - SIMPLE, no-fuss filter goes in and out easily ; no complicated valves or other cleaning devices. Cons: - Silicone insulation works but sometimes seems barely adequate; still quite hot to the touch, just not hot enough to actually burn (that's all that matters I guess). - The silicone insulation seems VERY difficult to remove and replace for a thorough cleaning; I think I'll end up biting the bullet to take it off and maybe clean it once a month instead of washing it every day. I'd like to at least be able to get into the lower lip area, which seems to be able to collect dirt. Neutral Observations: - Appears to be a bit small. But on the other hand, I'm used to carrying around a 24 ounce glass wine bottle with a flip top cap, which is very heavy and obviously holds a lot more, so maybe I'm just not used to NORMAL sizes carry drinking vessels. . One of the reasons I'm switching is to lighten the load I'm lugging around campus every day. Others have commented that the holes on the sides of the loose leaf tea filter are problematic, but I have not used it. for this purpose; I either use tea bags or bag my own loose leaf tea before putting it in a bottle for brewing. Maybe one day I'll try it without and see what happens. I'm vaguely concerned about how well the silicone isolator will hold up over time; I think it will look pretty rough when it starts staining. Does anyone have experience solving this problem?
