Lightweight and compact enough for easy storage

When we first tried making gnocchi, we didn't use a potato masher or gnocchi board. After learning how easy and delicious homemade gnocchi are, I decided to buy both. I have used this dumpling board and it is phenomenal. It's easy to hold and most importantly, easy to clean (I was worried about that). I just used my kitchen brush and brushed between the ridges. As it is made of wood, it must not be washed in the dishwasher. It's small enough for easy storage - fits right in my drawer. As for making gnocchi, I followed an easy ricotta gnocchi recipe last night. After kneading the dough, cutting into pieces and rolling into strands, I cut the pieces into about 1 inch. I put one on the board, pressed down with my thumb and rolled down. I thought it would take a long time to roll out all of the gnocchi on the board, but it was easy and quick. Actually my 9 year old helped and rode about half of them. From the start, before we even sat down at the table, we had fresh gnocchi in less than an hour!

Pros
  • It's amazing
Cons
  • Hard to say
