Description of 🍽️ Fantes Gnocchi Board: The Authentic Italian Market Original since 1906 - 8-Inch Beechwood Tool

Fantes Cousin Liana’s Gnocchi Board easily forms pasta dough into authentic Italian gnocchi. Made in Italy from natural beechwood; easy-grip handle maintains the perfect angle and keeps board steady for easier use. Ridges help shape pasta and add texture which will hold more sauce; works nicely as a cavatelli maker, too. Forms a more consistent shape than using a fork; won’t flatten delicate dough; same size pieces cook more evenly and make more attractive presentation. Easy to use and clean; wipe with a dry cloth or brush.

Grooves too close together

This works well, but I like the bigger grooves that come from rolling dumplings on a fork instead of this board. The purpose of mashing dumpling pillows on a board or fork, leaving indentations on one side and grooves on the other, is to create more nooks and crannies for your sauce to hang from. were further apart. It's like rolling them on a 10-prong fork. Just one man's opinion.

  • Finally bought this

Great Little Kitchen Tool

Great Little Kitchen Tool! It's small so don't expect a big board. Countertop measures approximately 2 1/4 inches wide and 4 3/4 inches long. Thickness 5/8 inch. Pretty fat. The handle is over 3 inches long. I wish more people would provide details in their reviews so you know what you're getting. The grooves are deep enough. If they were deeper, you would be pressing hard on the dough and it would likely just tear. The groove is 1/8" deep. I've used it several times and it makes beautifully…

Works Very Well: Kitchen and Dining Room

Works great as advertised. I am not sure why this product has 4.1 stars as it is an ancient Italian cooking tool that has been around for 100 years and is a must have if you love making really nice dumplings! It's a small piece of wood with grooves and it works every time. Do not put this in the washing machine, wash in soapy water and I use a small natural bristle kitchen brush which does a great job of cleaning this tool. Not sure what you were looking for if you rated less than 5 stars…

The key to real dumplings!

Can you make dumplings without a dumpling board? Yes, but why should you? You must have gravy impressions, Super Chiefs. Gnocchi recipes are easy to make, but the tedious task of rolling out each piece takes some time. The final step is to roll each piece onto a gnocchi board, and this board is easy to make. Gnocchi recipe: 4 baked potatoes, 1 egg with rice, whipped flour. Mix the egg with the potatoes with the rice and add the flour until you get an elastic dough. Divide into quarters and roll

Pros
  • Not only suitable for the intended purpose
Cons
  • No instructions

I love this little piece of wood very much

I'm 78 years old; I've been making cavatelli for many years - I just love them. My mother taught me how to push a small ball of dough off my thumb onto a floured board in a forward motion, and then when they're all rolled into little cavatellis you take a fork and make little grooves in it to give the sauce a bit more to grab. Well, if you know what I described - I'll tell you this little board is SUPER. It took me half (less than half) the time to make these little gems. I sprinkled some flour

Pros
  • There's something in there
Cons
  • Exchange possible

Dumpling beginner - this board met my expectations

First of all, I agree with other reviewers that dough consistency is important here. The first batch of gnocchi I made was too wet. So he stuck to the board and made a big mess. For the second try, I switched to a recipe that baked potatoes, not boiled them. Huge improvement. Much better dough and the dumplings rolled well. The board does what it should. It's not bulletproof or stronger than steel. This is a simple wooden board with ribs and a handle. Roll out a fairly firm dough on the board…

Lightweight and compact enough for easy storage

When we first tried making gnocchi, we didn't use a potato masher or gnocchi board. After learning how easy and delicious homemade gnocchi are, I decided to buy both. I have used this dumpling board and it is phenomenal. It's easy to hold and most importantly, easy to clean (I was worried about that). I just used my kitchen brush and brushed between the ridges. As it is made of wood, it must not be washed in the dishwasher. It's small enough for easy storage - fits right in my drawer. As for…
