Review on ๐Ÿš— Roadmaster 8700 Invisibrake Hidden Power Braking System: Ultimate Performance in Black by Charles Butler

Revainrating 5 out of 5

RELIABLE - EFFICIENT - SAFE

Fitted to a 1998 Jeep Wrangler TJ SE (approx ยฃ3000). Camping World installed the device under the driver's seat. The device itself has performed flawlessly on several long trips. It's easy to adjust the brake pressure (turn the dial to the specs for the car's weight) and you don't need to prepare something like Brake Buddy or similar systems before every ride. Just plug in and get started. Roadmaster products are made in the USA and are the best of their kind. Note that sometimes you need to reset the brake sensor on the tow brake pedal, otherwise the brake activation light on the RV dashboard may indicate towing. The car's brake pedal is pressed when in reality it is not. Very simple, just press the small indentation on the sensor, wait for the LEDs to flash, then release. Then apply the brakes in the camper to check the accuracy of the instrument panel lights and the movement of the hitch pedal. The only point that needs fixing, and I attribute that to Camping World's minimum wage wiring job, which I had to clean up a bit in hindsight.

Pros
  • Bypasses the 12 volt outlet and charges the battery
Cons
  • Poorly thought out
