I broke my ankle 8 weeks before climbing Mt Washington and bought them a month before the trip. I've sterilized them with water and wear them on occasional outings until travel. There was little I could do while my ankle healed. Climbing 3.4 miles and 3600 feet was amazing because these hiking shoes were so comfortable. I had no blisters, my ankle was very well supported. It was a very rocky trail that involved bouldering. and I felt safe with them during the climb. I've had other boots that I've soaked through and still gotten wet but not these. You stay dry in rain, puddles, dew. I plan to hike a lot with them!
