All 4 stacked together, including space for gaskets on the bottom, reach the top of the holder. I think they look good. Some may prefer the sides to be a little higher. You can use thinner coasters. Durable black metal. Simple and functional. Great price for two. Suitable for square and round. A gift when you buy coasters to put on. have a seal. I don't intend to drag the holder around furniture. I accidentally moved one but it didn't scratch my desk.
