Review on ๐ŸŒก๏ธ Spectra Premium CU1193 Full Radiator Solution by Justin Cage

There is only ONE.

Overall build quality is good, but there is one important point worth paying attention to. Attached is a photo of the transmission oil cooler lower pipe from the original factory cooler. Note that the end of the tube has a smooth, rounded bevel. With CU1193 there is no corresponding tube, it is rectangular and only without burrs, see product photo above. If they are used like this there is a good chance that attempting to reinstall the oil cooler line will loosen or damage the internal o-rings (there are 2 separated by a plastic ring) of the bell fitting. Of course, there are no substitutes for these small but important parts, and you'll have to replace the entire oil cooler line (ask how I know). Luckily, the CU1193 hose is attached to the heatsink with a flare that can be easily disassembled (before installing the heatsink). The factory radiator pipe cannot be removed so this is an improvement. Use sandpaper or a file to make a rounded bevel on the new pipe and clean it before reinstalling it on the new radiator. Lubricate the pipe before attempting to reconnect the oil cooler line. Walk straight and twist a little as needed, but don't sway from side to side. If it's stubborn, find an appropriately sized open-end wrench or adjustable wrench to loosely grip the narrow end of the flare fitting and place it over the shoulder of the wider flare. Hit the wrench with a hammer to force the flare against the pipe. Remember that the hose will screw into the plastic tank, so don't overdo it. You will know when the tube is properly seated in the flare fitting because you will hear a click as the 4 teeth of the spring clip snap over the rib on the tube. If you must remove the flare from the pipe after several attempts, carefully inspect the inside of the flare with a flashlight to ensure the o-rings have not moved out of their correct position (inside out - o-ring, plastic ). . ring, O-ring, plastic bushing, spring retainer) before each reinstallation. If the lower oil cooler connection was the same type as the upper connection things would be a lot easier.
