Review on SilverStone F1 Monaco S radar detector by Keebs Alter

Complete disappointment, the product is not at all what I imagined.

Chose for a long time. Read reviews on the market. It seems to me that most of the reviews are ordered by the manufacturer. I wanted to have fewer false positives - I fell for the marketing ploy that it is signature and, like, cuts off unnecessary positives. In fact, how this signature works: it determines the type of camera and says: this is a camera of CHRIS or BERKUT or something else. But what difference does it make to me what kind of radar it costs . the main thing for me is not to get into the money. And this signature does not cut off unnecessary interference! Works on everything in the K range. The first time I drove along the highway: I couldn’t understand why he constantly starts to squeak so often - there seemed to be no cameras anywhere. Then I began to notice a pattern - it starts to squeak when a truck passes by. And of course, truckers have walkie-talkies that work in zone K. So driving along the highway when there are a bunch of trucks is still a torment - it will constantly squeak. And also triggers when a modern car passes by: it has a bunch of sensors that work in this range: for example, blind spot sensors. I called tech support: I ask "what the hell? How can I cut off these false positives?" - "Unfortunately, no way, all radar detectors work on this principle." The convenience of GPS is doubtful - in fact, 80% of these places no longer have cameras. Conclusion: you can buy the most budgetary radar detector and it will be the same - the principle is the same. There is no point in paying. The operating experience is very negative, as I imagine how it starts to squeak as you leave the track . it starts to shake. I would love to return this miracle device back, but the warranty has expired.

Pros
  • No. I would not recommend this device to anyone!
Cons
  • Brake. Full brake. Sometimes it works after the camera. Sooo many false positives. For everything in the K band: on the walkie-talkie of truckers, blind spot sensors, on the Mazda CX5 - he doesn’t like her at all - he goes crazy when she drives by. I imagine the surprise of the Mazda CX5 owner - when the radar is constantly beeping :)
