Review on Magnetic Mount InfiniApps Original Patented Smartphones by Marcus Amillion

Revainrating 3 out of 5

I'm really trying to love this mount, but.

PLUS: I just slammed the phone onto the mount with no issues with settings, latches and other things. Just take your phone out of your pocket and put it in the right position. The magnets are STRONG. PLUS: The general idea of mounting in a CD slot MINUS: Fully inserted into the slot and fully tightened, the weight of my phone (Samsung Galaxy Note 3) causes the mount to sag in the slot. I improved this a bit by gluing coarse sandpaper to the gripping surfaces. This also only helped a little. The hill still sags to the point where it hits the volume knob on my radio. MINUS: The knob on the screw is ridiculously large - to the point where it obscures almost half of the radio's display. I solved this problem by replacing the screw with a 6 x 1.0mm screw from the hardware store. To make it even better, I turned the head of the screw face down on my lathe - you probably won't be equipped for this, so a regular socket head screw will do. MINUS: The bead and connector connection was very loose, to the point where they no longer supported my phone in landscape (landscape) mode with the charging cable attached. I solved this problem by taking it apart and grinding the thread lock ring a bit so it could be tightened further. Now it works fine. I can rotate the phone and it stays where it's supposed to be. CONS: A metal part (I wedged it between the battery and the battery cover) is preventing NFC from working. That's a real shame because as easy as hanging the phone on the mount, it would be really cool to have an NFC tag on the mount to put the phone in auto-dock mode. Anyway, I have a desktop shortcut to do this, but it's a nice minus nonetheless. in (to select functions or answer calls). I'm seriously considering just drilling a few holes and mounting it on the dash. As you can see I worked pretty hard to get this mount working. I REALLY want to love him, or at least love him a lot. Almost there, but not quite. If the manufacturer pays attention to these reviews, I hope they address at least some of the issues.
