I needed to somehow connect my computer (analog output only) to an LG soundbar (no analog input, only optical input). I thought this adapter might be the solution, but after purchasing it, I found that this adapter does not have optical OUT, only optical IN. I should have read the manual carefully but I was still hoping it would work as optical audio out on my old MacBook Pro. Unfortunately it doesn't work that way, there is no optical output on this adapter. I connected it to my Nintendo Switch. and it didn't work. It worked when I connected it to the Nintendo Dock, but it's useless as the dock still receives audio over HDMI. So this adapter is useless for me.
