I bought this because of an ad that said it would power a Pi2 with a higher current draw (2A). I tried it and got a low voltage warning. Pi2 still worked. Tried a very short cable and still got a low voltage notification. (This is a colored square blinking in the top right corner of the screen). Finally tried a longer cable between the other two and, SUCCESS! Then I ordered what looked like a good use but was short and it worked. So I have everything. One connector powers the hub, Pi2, and external portable hard drive. Everything is powered by this hub and of course it shares the hard drive with the software as it should. There is no conflict between power supply and USB operation. Both work. This means that the two cables from the hub to the Pi2 go to different outlets. 1 for power, 1 for USB data. Works perfectly! Just don't give up too quickly. It may take a wire or two to get a wire with low enough resistance to provide the Pi2 with the power it needs. Fire up Kodi XBMC and it works GREAT! Very happy for a few weeks. Thanks Plugable for the great and fast email support.
