The protective layer that protects the bottles is paper thickness. Yes, there is bubble wrap inside, but it's the smallest bubble wrap and the least filled with air. I'm afraid the bottle will break. I have to buy bubble wrap and wrap the bottle before I put it in this bag. I also ordered 2 sets, so I had a total of 6 protective covers. The seams came undone on two pockets. I taped all seams on all bags to prevent this from happening to other bags. They're technically reusable, but I don't think they'll last very long if the stitches are already unraveled.
