I use this on my 40 gallon axolotl tank to keep a constant temperature of 60-64 degrees Fahrenheit and it does just that! I have noticed that there has been a slight difference lately this week. with the temp (it kind of hopped between 70 and 50 as I typed that in and set it to 62) but makes the tank a lot more manageable than the horrible little fans I've originally been using in the Texas heat for the past two or three years have. The water is cleaner, the axolotls are a lot happier and more comfortable, and I get a lot less angry. The noise level is barely noticeable, while the squeaking of the fans drove me insane. Any leaks I encountered really only happened during the setup and testing phases and required some special wrenches to hold the jets tight enough to prevent this, but to be honest it really wasn't a problem , if you are worried about it! Aside from the very interesting new temperature swings (which I'll be keeping an eye on and will update here if this becomes a bigger issue) I just doubt it will hurt to keep the hoses clean as they seem to like to fill up/in wax she slime. But such is the life of an axolotl owner!
