Review on πŸ₯Ά Efficient Winterization for Sprinkler Systems & Outdoor Faucets: Air Compressor Quick-Connect Plug with Solid Lead-Free Brass Blow Out Adapter Fitting by Paul Williams

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works great for auto-hibernation sprinklers!

You can easily winterize the system yourself. My check valve box has a nipple for this, but it's different than a typical compressor quick disconnect. Since I already have an outside faucet in the garden that is part of the watering side of the check valve, I can just attach this adapter and use my compressor to blow out the sprinklers. Note that if you don't have a faucet on the sprinkler side, you can buy parts at a hardware store to install this adapter on one of the sprinkler inlets, but you will need a way to force this valve to open constantly during operation . blow out. This is not possible with most sprinkler controls. Please note that you will NOT want to use this on a regular outside faucet on the side of the house away from the check valve! Steps: 1. Close the sprinkler master valve. It's probably on the street next to your counter.2. Open the outside faucet and allow as much water as possible to drain out by gravity3. Attach this adapter and then the compressor4 to it. Start the compressor and let it charge the tank.5. Pass through each sprinkler area valve, one at a time, and open and run until air begins to bleed6. When you're done, turn off the faucet. Note that you need a "real" compressor for this. My 1 gallon manual compressor has trouble keeping the line at 20 psi while doing this. Be careful, stop and let the compressor cool down every few minutes.
