When replacing the timing belt, I decided, like most people, to change the water pump so as not to do it again on the road. I bought this pump on the recommendation of a friend and it also comes with a gasket which the Gates pump does not have. This pump has a slightly different impeller design than the OEM model, but works just as well. The gasket is a real gem in this kit as it is quite strong and I wasn't worried about it leaking after installation. Do yourself a favor and put some RTV on the gasket to secure it to the pump during installation. This makes it easier to get it right. The pump also comes with an angular vibration rubber element and a thermostat seal. I bought the new thermostat that came with it so I didn't need it but I found it to be a very nice addition and I applaud Aisin for giving you everything you need to replace that pump. Overall I am very happy with this pump. I've been driving for a week with no sign of any problems. This pump is competitively priced with a Gates pump and having bought and installed both I would recommend this Gates pump as it comes with a proper seal and feels like it won't let me down after 10,000 miles permit.
