I've tried five or six hardwood floor nozzles for the Dyson V8 (with adapter) and all have failed. They all work for basic dust, but when picking up pet hair, sand, and other debris, it really helps to open the front of the nozzle wide so it can all get into the vacuum. It does the trick, including pet hair and kitty litter. The brush itself is also soft enough not to leave marks on our shiny floor.
