Terrible Basting Brush Theme

The first thing you should understand is that the reviews on this site are a combination of several Farberware products, so take that into account when rating. This review is about the Basting Brush. While it feels premium and looks and feels good, there are significant flaws in its design. The bristles appear to be molded from a single piece of silicone. That's why they fit together perfectly, beautiful and compact. However, this means that individual bristles are not readily coated. For example, if you dip it in melted butter, the butter will only coat the outer bristles, unlike a traditional pastry brush where each bristle is coated on the outside. If you try to staple something, just rub it with the outer bristles. As shown in my picture, they aren't very flexible and don't stretch well enough to cover everything. You can use a spatula as a pastry brush with the same success. I have no idea why they thought it was a good idea.
