They seem very usable. The electroplating holds the diamonds very securely, unlike the cheap diamond plates you can get for a few bucks at Harbor Freight. The selection of grits is very large, which is good for experimenting. I'm sure I'll eventually find a use for all of the grains, but you really only need three or so. I expect most people will find that they use a few grains most of the time and the rest only occasionally or not at all. You won't get a polished edge from a diamond, so once you get to #1000 you should either stop there. because you don't need anything better, or you want to go to a thin stone or belt where the polish comes from. They are designed to be installed to sharpen knives of this general type: https://www.amazon.com/MOVIRON-Professional-Sharpening-Fixed-Angle-Whetstones/dp/B08HMV12H6/ They fit what I have and will do a good job. The advantage of diamonds is that they practically do not wear out. They're not particularly straight, but they don't scratch like a stone, so they're quite good for the early stages of sharpening where material removal rate is the key performance criterion. There are enough of them to handle well. Overall, at $3.25 each, I would definitely consider them a good value.
