Review on Ceiling Profile Lighting Adjustable Dimmable by Tina Wolford

One for the junkyard

I'm renovating the attic in my house and one of the additions is a ceiling fan. I saw it and liked the design so I gave it a try. In short: it's a failure from start to finish. I feel responsible for making other buyers aware of the serious flaws in this ceiling fan. details below. INSTALLATION The fan comes with a metal bracket that attaches to the ceiling and then the fan is attached to it. Although this fan is very light (less than 10 pounds), the anchors included with this fan are not secure for ceiling mounting. These are simple anchors that will definitely pull out of the ceiling in a short amount of time. I went to the hardware store and instead bought 4 hooks that are secure for hanging something that heavy from the ceiling. If you actually buy this ceiling fan, DO NOT use the included wall anchors. INSTRUCTIONS We've all seen bad instructions at some point. But the instructions that come with this ceiling fan are poorly written and not safe to follow. The specific references in the instructions don't even seem to relate to the ceiling fan you're looking at. It's disappointing that a company that sells electronics to an American audience doesn't find the time to provide even the most basic instructions. I don't care about grammar, but the information should at least be up to date. The instructions emphasize that you can mount the mount using the anchors from the kit, which as I said above will be very unsafe. The rest of the instructions are so obscure that they should be specifically avoided. The wires on this ceiling fan are marked "L” and "N”, which is a bit foreign to American consumers. We are more used to white and black wires. If you manage to match this ceiling fan, be sure to connect "L" to black and "N" to white. But this is not explained anywhere in the instructions. OVERALL QUALITY The fan looks good. It feels flat and the lights are smooth and rounded. But inside, the electrical components are very thin. The boxes containing the main electrical components are held together with cheap duct tape and when I opened the box they were all dangling around. When I tried to connect the wires, one of them jumped right out of the box. I managed to unscrew the box and reattach the wire, but was very hesitant as it looked like it was about to be pulled out again. Before fully attaching it to the ceiling, I did a fan test. I was very disappointed to find that it moved almost no air. Maximum fan speed was disappointingly low. However, I've gotten this far with all the wiring. Decided to complete the installation. But before I could do that, one of the other wires came loose from the case and I had to remove the fan, open the component box, and reattach the wire. My hand rested on one of the blades for a moment and it broke. It was due to an almost complete lack of pressure. It pretty much did it for this ceiling fan. CONCLUSION I have to see this as a major setback. From horrible and dangerous instructions to very flimsy parts, I strongly suggest you look elsewhere.
