I was surprised when I used this product and found that it worked as advertised. Not all cleaners meet the declared properties. As far as cleaning stale/old air, I think it does a great job. Especially if the cleaner's directions for use are followed (I mention this because some of the feedback posts about the product not working are clearly related to misuse of the product). However, it is not as successful in cleaning the air in a smoky/smelly room. I have used the product 3 times a week and found that a room smelled 100% better with old papers/photos/furniture. The other room (yes I bought 2) where I can't close the doors all the way and has a constant refreshing smell of smoke, smells a little better but doesn't "stay" fresh. I wouldn't expect this to happen if someone keeps returning to a room with smoky clothes/shoes. I haven't tried sleep mode because I run a pet/fan cycle with a 2 hour timer when I use them. Overall this product works and I highly recommend it!
