The tape measure looks well built, fairly solid and smooth. relegation lock too; Mine, however, is a lighter gray band (off-white and even off-white). I don't want to sound bad or "complain" but the white strap is the main reason I ordered this (hence my 3 star rating). I have another tape measure (and I've seen quite a few in stores since I bought this one) with real white tape. There's a difference. I missed the return date anyway but that's not a problem as it has a solid construction as they say and I like a good wide tape measure (durable for long measurements when the tape is in the air). I'm sure it will be helpful.
