Review on Kingseal 7.75 Inch Biodegradable Disposable Paper Drinking 🥤 Straws - Giant Size, Bulk Pack of 350 Straws by Doug Daniels

My bees love them as household items

This is the first time I've tried just some straws with my mason bees. They like them a lot, although the bees have already used up all of my tuft stalks, so I don't know how the bees would react if they had another choice. Here's what I did: 1) used 4 rubber bands to make a bun about 6 inches in diameter; 2) used a hacksaw to cut the straws in half (the straws are a bit longer than the bees need; cutting in half also doubles the number of straws); so i now have two bundles, each with two large elastic bands holding them together; 3) dig up some clay; 4) Pick out any rocks, lumps, roots, etc. that are larger than the diameter of the straw; 5) Mix it with some water in a bucket to form a paste about 1/4 inch thick at the bottom of the bucket; 6) Press the cut end of your straw into the clay - you're trying to seal the end of each straw; 7) Remove the bundle from the bucket and use your fingers to spread the clay a bit to cover each straw; 8) let the clay dry a little; 9) Lay out the bundle for the bees, carefully dividing into smaller bundles if needed. If the bundles are out for more than a month, I would use 1/8 inch bungee cord instead of rubber bands. Rubber bands don't last very long outdoors.
