Review on REDD Plant Based Protein Variety Sports Nutrition and Protein by James Conrad

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Not a single tasty bar in the Variety Pack.

Wow. Such bars are found in survival kits, there is no OTHER reason to put them in your mouth. I eat all kinds of local and exotic fruits, I like to eat vegetables that are "too bitter" for many people, I eat a really wide range of authentic national cuisines - I don't have narrow tastes. But one by one, I tried each variety of these bars and those that didn't cause active disgust or instantaneous nausea, but honestly didn't resemble "food". I mean that. Just a sugary, woody, odd mismatch of flavor and "spice". Sticky, woody and chalky at the same time, really sickening textures and over-the-top flavors that don't mix with an overly sweet background. I can't imagine who these bars were tested on. They don't really have the flavor or texture profile that anyone in the food or culinary space has ever strived for. When you need portable protein on the go, reach for dried fruits and nuts. It costs the same or less.

Pros
  • More protein, less sugar: natural sweeteners and plant-based protein filling; Each REDD bar contains at least 10g of protein and no more than 5g of sugar
Cons
  • I will add later
