Review on GIGABYTE X570 AORUS Ultra Gaming Motherboard (AMD Ryzen 5000/X570/ATX/PCIe 4.0/DDR4/USB 3.1/Realtek ALC1220-Vb/Fins-Array Heatsink/RGB Fusion 2.0/3xM.2 Thermal Guard) by Jonny Dogruyol

Ideal for gamers and audiophiles

I often see this motherboard compared to Master, Extreme or Pro WiFi. Master and Extreme are praised for the additional features, but Ultra is usually less popular as it is very similar to Pro Wifi. They are similar to each other but not the same. (M.2 Heatsink*3) vs 2 and (Realtek 2.5GbE + Intel Gigabit LAN) vs Intel only are the main points to consider. Is it worth the extra $50? No, if you buy Ultra used or refurbished the prices are about the same. :-) Ultra and Master don't differ that much. Only the Extreme has something special (special?) and is twice as expensive as the Master. if you ask me it's a no, no, no! It all boils down to this, if you're a gamer, Ultra is your last stop. If you are a gamer and OC enthusiast and have money to spend then go for Extreme. I installed my system and it was a pleasure working with this motherboard. Easy to use, easy to connect, good backup software and very user-friendly BIOS. What did I not like? *RGB is almost non-existent. So weak that they cannot be seen next to the other lighting of the fans and the processor. If it's an RGB board, it should be a little flashy. because .error. it's RGB!* The default motherboard CPU frequencies aren't very good. You need to optimize the graphics to make your system silent. Even with sleep mode selected, the schedule is incorrect, causing the CPU fans to behave erratically and become noisy. where is the software? No matter what you do, you will never see the Realtek audio settings screen where you can see the equalizer and other settings. glad i chose this one.

Pros
  • Rear amp with 125dB SNR gain and alc1220-vb
Cons
  • Poorly thought out
