This is great, the minimalist design is awesome, but this thing is freaking huge! IMO it seems a lot bigger than the usual 12 inches from the store. which🤔 while typical "12" wheels are actually 11.5". Surprisingly, I *barely* put it in my "Critter Trails" (cell "2 and 1/2 stories"). It is, as they say, too much. It's hard to walk the usual cage steps. It MUST be on a stand. It needs to be mounted on a strong metal crossbar of the cage. It also rings true because metal irregularities take up a lot of space on a threaded bearing shaft washers can be used as spacers, but you'll still need *heavy* cage bars to attach it. Being transparent, it gets dirty quickly and looks gross. Be sure to only clean it with a soft sponge, as acrylic scratches easily. Also, be aware of this if it rubs against linens. Nearly forty dollars, it's too expensive to let pointless scratches ruin the look. I have a {rescued/wild} chipmunk and it has one longer body he as a typical hamster. I knew a bigger wheel was needed. Included; in the other wheel, which was colored, she walked in front of me for hours. Oddly enough I haven't caught it in this clean wheel (in a month+). I know she uses it, but she won't use it if someone else is in the room. I suspect it might have something to do with her being in her right mind and not feeling safe in this room. I'm guessing this wheel would be great for a chinchilla, probably "enough" in size, [disclaimer] as I would prefer "bigger is better" in terms of comfort. It is very impressive visually and physically due to its excellent packaging 👍 🏻 Very well made to the touch. I can hear it in him, but I think it's from his rubbing against the bedclothes. 😊 So, for (I don't know, 2-4? months I've had this bike, I went in there a few times and it slipped into a gap; and it's / almost on the bed because it kind of loosened up, so keep that in mind and keep an eye on it, it may need to be retightened and readjusted from time to time, I think I got it pretty tight at first, but I don't use tools, but I don't want anything overdo it and maybe chop/damage something.
