This is the fourth set of pet ladders we have purchased for our little Shih Tzu pup. These little puppies can hurt themselves if they jump down too many times, so we really wanted him to use the stairs. He didn't like the hard plastic type at all and refused to use it. Tried two other sets of foam covered steps and it went UP but not DOWN. I saw similar steps in a YouTube video of another Shih Tzu puppy and decided to give it a try. FINALLY found a set to go DOWN with! The only possible problem I would mention is that the lid will likely break if you are not careful enough to remove it and put it back in for washing. Otherwise LOVE THIS!
