I've noticed some people are having trouble with color coding and thought I'd try to help. See color coding instructions above (instructions NOT included). ), but it makes sense if you take the time. The needles are actually packaged as described above so you can get an idea of what you have by labeling them before opening the individual packages they come in. I'm new to felting, but this is how the needles were packed in my box: a plastic bag containing 5 gold handle needles (36g), a separate bag containing 5 green pins (38g), a bag containing 5 red pins (40g) and a bag of 5 black pencils (42 g). They all appear to be regular (triangular?) 3-sided needles. Then 3 packs. One pack contains 3 needles with golden handles. They appear to be star felting needles (about 40-42g, they claim to be good for quick working, joining and coarse fibers). There is also a pack of 3 pink and 3 purple needles (these are spirals, again in 40-42g, good for embellishing and decorating) and the last pack of 3 red and 3 black needles with handles (these are cones). 40-42g needles which they claim are good for texturing and fur or down). Only 35 needles. I feel like it gave me a good range for the price. I only spent five minutes labeling packages with sticky labels so I didn't have to constantly refer to them online. BUT the "box", it comes with it is a small cardboard box with flaps, not a plastic storage set. And also plastic bags. The incoming needles are more like the plastic packaging for items seen in stores - they are NOT actual plastic tubes or storage containers. These noodle bags can be opened and re-seated, and it still feels like you can store needles in this packaging, but don't expect actual storage boxes or tubes of any kind.
