I bought this because I had an old HP Touchsmart 600 that lasted forever. Well, I finally have storage big enough to store all my photos. However, I couldn't turn it on. I concluded it was the power cord because the computer made no sound at all when I tried to start it. so i bought this cable. it worked. The downside is that it's smaller than the original cable, which means it overheats pretty quickly. maybe 20 minutes of use before I pass out. I had to wait 30 minutes and upload my photos from the computer as fast as possible before it overheated again. But it's not the product's fault. This was not intended for the HP Touchsmart 600
