I don't recall what made me decide to purchase two external hard drives rather than one internal one, but it was because I needed to set aside a significant amount of disk space "for growth." In addition, I desired a second disk for use with backups. Either none of this could be contained within, or it was sold at an exorbitant price. I am content with the choice that was made. Although they do take up room, the fact that they do so is not a deal breaker. Everything turned out to be fairly acceptable for the price. If it becomes essential, you are able to remove any and all working supplies without having to crawl into the system unit. It does not make any noise, is quite quick, and does not become hot (under my tasks). "What else does a person need to do in order to meet old age?!"
