Might be good for some but not me

I loved the idea of a remote control. However it does not work unless you are very close to the lights. We have a small above ground pool, when the lights are submurged, (34") the lights do not respond. I then tried them inside a clear floating device on top of the water, I still had to be less than 2 ft away for remote to work. Colors are pretty but best submerged. I guess I'll keep looking, I need remote control and floating that I can be 4 to 5 feet away from to control the lights.
