These towels absorb moisture, but they are quite thin, so they can only absorb a certain amount of liquid. Dishes take time to dry because they only absorb a certain amount of water before moving. Dishes never get completely "dry”; A thin film of moisture always remains. If you look at them in the light you will see that they are transparent. I wouldn't use them for heavy work.
