Bought for my 9 year old son as he really wanted a pair of shorts like his friends had. He was so excited when they arrived that he immediately wanted to carry them to school the next day. So the next day he comes downstairs in his new board shorts and I can tell they were a little loose at the waist but it wasn't a big deal. My main concern for him was the velcro. I noticed as he was preparing his textbooks that the Velcro was starting to tear a little. I asked him to undo the velcro and put the velcro back on. I then take him to the bus stop and as he gets on the bus he turns to wave goodbye. I again notice that the Velcro fly is starting to tear and my son doesn't realize his Spider-Man panties are showing. . Later that day, when I met him at the bus stop, he was getting off the bus clutching his shorts, the Velcro fly completely torn, his Spider-Man underpants practically entirely visible. He said he went to the bathroom after school and when he tried to put his Velcro back on it didn't hold up. He said it was humiliating and that his only option was to hold his shorts with one hand while walking. Then, over lunch, he told me that he had to use two hands to hold his tray and ended up almost falling off his shorts. Despite the issues with the velcro, he really likes the shorts. So we will work on fixing the bow tie with velcro to make it hold better.
