Hamilton Beach vs Cuisinart Rice Cooker

Bought both Cuisinart and Hamilton Beach (cheaper). Boiled rice in both for comparison. Cuisinart cooked a cup of rice in about 15 minutes. Hamilton Beach in about 30 minutes. I find that the higher cooking temperature in the Cuisinart causes the water to boil more and steam to spurt (Cuisinart has a straight glass lid with a steam vent, but if there was too much steam the hole couldn't handle it and caused steam to escape everywhere Hamilton Beach has a locking lid so vapor is channeled into the grab tray from the side rather than spraying around the lid Each model has its own advantages The Cuisinart has a see-through glass lid Nicer stainless steel body, easy cooking or Heat lock and cooks faster.Hamilton Beach has a lockable lid to avoid steam splattering, comes with 5 control modes (white rice, whole grain, hot cereal, steam, keep warm) and a time display window. The keep warm function on both is too warm so have it they made the same mistake. My wife has decided to keep both.Hamilton is used primarily for cooking rice used like the Cuisinart is used to prepare other dishes (vegetables,.) as it can see what is happening through the glass lid.
