This is a simple starter kit for Raspberry Pi 3 B+ . Basically everything is good, but I found a few flaws. The good first: The set is neatly packaged and contains everything that is described in the product description. Powering on the Pi with a microSD card installed will cause the Pi to boot to the NOOBS prompt (unless you format the card). The power adapter, the card and the card reader worked without any noticeable problems. Neutral: This kit includes two coolers. One for the CPU and one for the Ethernet controller. They have adhesive pads on the back and are easy to install. The processor heatsink pad moves slightly away from the heatsink (less than a nanometer), but that's not enough for the star to dock. Now for the bad: The chassis is poorly designed and looks like a re-issue of a 3 chassis without considering the extra PoE pins and relocating the ethernet controller. Once you finally put the case on (a little painfully), you'll find that the Ethernet controller slot makes it where the heatsink can't fit properly. The controller has been moved closer to the Ethernet port, but the case only expands the slot. The chip sits right in the slot and is slightly obscured by the surrounding plastic. This makes installing the heatsink a bit more difficult and prevents it from sitting completely on the chip. The PoE slot is even worse. The slot offers more space on the GPIO pin side but overlaps on the USB port side. This makes using PoE pins a bit more difficult or impossible. Another issue is that the PWR and ACT indicator engravings are on the wrong side. The case has two holes cut in each side of the indicator slot for the PWR and ACT LEDs. The LEDs on the Pi are on the microUSB board side, but the hole engraving is on the GPIO side. Another small issue is that the CPU hole doesn't have the CPU in the middle (it's a bit to the side), but that doesn't matter. Also, the microSD card reader does not allow the card to be in one place. The card protrudes slightly on the cut-out side. This doesn't detract from usability, but it's a dubious design decision. To summarize: - Good: * Neatly packaged * Comes with all listed parts * Everything works - Neutral: * Heatsink adhesive gasket came off a bit, but no big deal - Bad: * Chassis doesn't account for PoE pins * Chassis doesn't account for PoE pins moving the ethernet controller * Etched PWR and ACT labels on wrong side * MicroSD card is crooked in reader This kit will save you some time, so it might be worth buying for new users. Ditch the case and get a more open design that allows for a heatsink and makes it easier to use the PoE option.
