Let me say that I think this product works well. I just want to list a few points that I think are worth mentioning. 1-Rinse well, do not grind the bag, just rinse for example 5 minutes. I wash mine in a bag and then put them in the reactor, see #22 - if you're going to use them in a media reactor, DO NOT just put them in with regular sponges, pre-filters or whatever else you have. Use them, but ALWAYS use a 150 micron or smaller mesh bag on the outlet. (I thought it could be better) I put mine in the bottom of my reactor (which is its outlet). Can I insulate 150 microns? If you don't, you will see carbon particles in your white sugar sand. PS: I also cut the extra felt mesh sock into circular sections and added 2 of them just before the 150 micron mesh. 3-Noticeable PH increase around week 1. 0.4 increase. Mine was 8.3, jumped to 8.7, system stabilized and returned to normal. 4-Helps to clean the water, everything looks fine, all the freeches, corals and creatures are happy. 5- Less algae. 6- Please read #2
