Review on Mini Polario 10ML Voltage Water by Steve Miller

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Mini Polario low voltage water pump 10ml

I've had this pump for 4 days now. This is a nice little SILENT pump. Yes, I hear a very LIGHT buzz as the water moves faster in different directions every 5 seconds, just like the product description says. As for the reviews stating the pump makes an awful noise at full speed - yes it happens when the pump is TOO close to the top of the tank. This little pump moves a lot of water when it revs up and if placed too close to the waterline it will suck air into the pump making a very unpleasant noise and air bubbles in your tank, you can see air being sucked in. into the tank - a bit of common sense is enough. Mine hangs from a glass panel right in the middle of my 40 gallon reef tank and after lowering it to the correct level in the tank there is good water movement and no annoying noise. I still have one of my smaller lures that works as I keep sponges on my reef and they need a lot of water. . I will most likely buy another mini polario in the same size because I love how this pump works, plug it in, position it correctly (in the middle of your tank) and forget about it. For my aquarium I would like to buy the fastest pump available, then I would only need one pump, which would be very nice aesthetically. . .I am very happy with the water movement, the current is great, I can see my copepods in the current when feeding my aquarium, the corals are swaying nicely. The pump briefly fell into my crushed coral substrate during a routine cleaning and just stopped working. When I took it apart there was a tiny piece of sand/coral inside, but as soon as I flushed it out the pump worked fine again. The pump is compact, at least two times smaller than a conventional power unit. I give it 5 stars because the ebb and flow it generates with no programming required is amazing. I'm a big fan of the magnetic attachment system - it's enough to service a reef aquarium without worrying about crappy suction cups coming loose. Aesthetically it is the smallest and best performing pump I have ever owned.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • I won't say anything
