I really hate threading a needle due to my poor eyesight. It's much easier than a regular needle. I stick my fingernail between the two halves and they pop open slightly. Over time, I've noticed a few things: Yes, they're sharp enough to rip skin. Halves have been together for a long time. Every few minutes I move the thread a little.* These needles can break if you pull the thread hard enough. It takes a lot of trouble though.* They go through my grandmother's beads and beads.* They are very flexible.* I think the needles last longer if you turn them over every once in a while. I pull the thread the length of the needle and continue to use the other side as a tip. The needle wears more evenly. Other beading needles can be cheaper and depending on what I'm making I sometimes use these. But these are my favourites.
