I have a 2019 16" Macbook Pro that costs $5,000 after tax (64GB RAM, 2TB, max CPU). This MacBook was in the repair shop for two months. After purchase, all ports cannot be powered, and therefore the computer is discharged and unusable. Repairs are covered by AppleCare, but imagine - third-party data recovery isn't covered by AppleCare (Apple says they care too much about privacy to offer this service -_-). And data recovery is necessary because the Genius Bar representative told me that if there is a problem with the motherboard, there is a 100 percent chance of data loss without data recovery because the hard drive is welded to the motherboard. I've seen multiple instances of Anker hubs causing this particular issue on a MacBook Pro. Coincidentally, I also used this hub. Apparently there's a Big Sur update that fixes the problem because Anker devices don't properly regulate the amount that goes into the computer. But Big Sur has compatibility issues, so I don't want to upgrade. The data recovery bill will be $700-$2700 which will not be covered by Apple and now I need to buy a different brand USB hub (I bought two Anker hubs because I liked their quality in the past Has). And it takes 5-7 business days to send my Mac back with all the documents I need for work. This is for a $5,000 car I bought two months ago. I can't prove that Anker was the culprit, but I want to add my case to the mosaic because it seems obvious that a lot of people are having this issue and are only using this hub, and Apple had to make an update to fix this issue. An Apple Genius Bar representative told me that once Anker actually paid for someone's repairs because they didn't have AppleCare. I am very disappointed with Anker and what is also very frustrating is that I see forum posts with other people facing this problem a year ago. . Why is it still on sale? There should be a warning here. Who is ready to file a class action lawsuit?
