Review on Stay Warm In The Outdoors With ALPS OutdoorZ Redwood -10° Sleeping Bag by Cory Spence

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Impressive sleeping bag

We made two cross country trips sleeping on an air mattress in the back of a mini van. We bought our first of these sleeping bags the day after waking up to 18° temps one morning. We completed our trip in relative comfort and recently bought a second of these bags to be used in our truck camper. These are definitely not back packing bags, they are large, soft, and quite comfortable, but heavy. We use these (one under us and one over us) in our camper which also has a gas furnace. Based on several mild temperature trips we won't be using much propane for some time. Waking up warm and comfortable is a very nice way to start the day. The wool liner material is soft to the touch and does not hold the cold like most exterior use fabrics. The canvas outer covering looks very sturdy and wear resistant.

Pros
  • The adjustable hood and shoulder collar help trap warm air inside the sleeping bag, making it ideal for use in cold weather
Cons
  • The sleeping bag may not be as versatile as advertised for use in different outdoor scenarios
