This mat is exactly what I was looking for - slightly longer and wider than the standard mat. This size is hard to find and this one performs really well. If you like a thicker mat, go for the 3/5" thickness. It provides superior support and absorbs some of the impact to protect your joints. It does not slip and is not slippery. This mat is big enough that I no longer step off the mat during exercises. I did not notice any particular smell from it. The only annoying feature is the loud squeak it makes when I push off hard on the balls of my feet, for example when I do burpees. This is because of the finish on the surface of the mat. However, I believe the finish gives it more durability so the material does not crack over time with use. I highly recommend this mat. It appears to be of very high quality.
