If you like a thicker mat, go for the 3/5" thickness. It provides superior support and absorbs some of the impact to protect your joints. It does not slip and is not slippery. Have been using 5-6 times a week for yoga, stretching and strength workouts for about 2 months. Great mat overall. What I like: extra thickness (3/5) provides great cushioning for kneeling positions (even with overhead weights), extra width is great, and after a few hours airing outside out of the package, it really does not smell at all (and I am pretty sensitive to smells). I suffered from a couple of lower back injuries, the thickness of the matt really helps on relieving pressure and pain when I'm doing exercises and stretches'. I been using the mat for over 2 weeks now.I did not find any smells chemical smell when I got the mat, I did notice a little bit of wear. I bought two of these - his and hers for me and my wife. They came in a simple box and the mats were each in a convenient carrying sleeve with shoulder strap. I would not necessarily characterize these as "premium" because the foam seems like it could be prone to tearing. We purchased 2 of these oversized yoga mats to use as temporary protective covering on our boat while hauling in crab and shrimp pots. These mats have stood up to a real workout with crustacean laden pots banging and bouncing on them. The mats have absorbed the beating instead of our boat surfaces with only minor dents and scrapes. They are easy to clean and stow. For our purposes - we couldn’t be more pleased. We may even use them for back deck exercising when we’re out on long trips!

My husband is a pretty bulky guy and loves yoga, but hates the normal-sized mats because they feel small. He was so excited when I got this for him. The padding is very thick, and the extra width gives him so much more room to work out. Really good price for the quality.
