Review on Ultimate Filtration Solution: Introducing ISpring Flushable Prefilter Filtration WSP50 by Ben Titchenell

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good product, works as advertised!

My well is pushing out a lot of sediment, enough that after 3-4 weeks I have a noticeable drop in water pressure. Normally I wouldn't mind changing the filters every few weeks, but the overall plumbing for my fountain is pretty cramped. I decided to try this downward rotating filter to extend the life of my other filters and save me a few trips under the house. First impressions were that the filter appeared to be well made, which was one of the reasons I chose this one over other PVC options. Installation was easy, but I recommend using better quality Teflon tape than the one that came with it. I had very small leaks on my first two attempts to install using the supplied tape. A stronger band solved this problem. The filter does its job of capturing sediment before it reaches another filter and water heater. However, with a filter and bowl this small, they are likely to clog up fairly quickly if not washed regularly. Since it was in my crawl space, I wasn't thrilled with having to manually delete it every few days. I hooked up a flush valve to a cheap automatic sprinkler timer and set it to flush for 15 seconds every 2 days. It has worked well so far and my other household filter seems to be a lot cleaner after a few weeks. I'm pretty sure I can use other filters for 2 months now. 4 stars because I think a slightly larger screen and sediment bowl would be helpful for those of us with a lot of sediment. Otherwise it seems like a great product!
