I just hope there is enough space here to say everything I like about this lamp. I prepared to order the famous name light that many embroiderers use. Here someone wrote that this light has become much better. I bought THREE other brand lights. (One cost $500 and was presumably the same one used by doctors—it's in Goodwill now.) All the others are more expensive than this light, so I probably wouldn't have tried them without the great reviews. However, I continued to read review after review of its excellence. It arrived today and I just assembled it and loved it. I do complex crafts and although I can see it without a magnifying glass, a magnifying lamp makes it a lot easier. This lamp was much brighter. It didn't have the cumbersome quarter-size magnifying glass built into the lens like one of my other lights, which was always hard not to see through. I love that it's so heavy. The rest kept tipping over. One had to be attached to the table with a clamp and the clamp ruined my table and the light would not stay in place. I will continue after using it for a few weeks but for now all I can say is Wow! Where have you been all my life? As another reviewer mentioned, the cable attaches in the middle, which I like. My other lamps were attached to the base and often literally fell out of connection. I'm so excited to get back to my handwork. I didn't do this because it was very difficult to position the lamp correctly. I wanted a floorstanding model that could be easily moved from room to room. However, it's very heavy (compared to others) so I'll probably buy another one or two instead of having to lift and move the lamp. If you're a muscular 300-pound bodybuilder this won't be a problem for you, but if you're a weak person it might be too heavy to carry around the house. The packaging was good but I had a big hole. I didn't know if it was a refurbished product and the previous owner damaged the packaging but I don't think so. I think it's just a case of rough treatment by the post office. I was concerned that the lamp would be damaged but it seems to be working fine. If not, I'll be sure to let you know. I plan to recommend this lamp to people in my FB stick groups. The price is really high for the lamp you get. Hopefully the bulbs will last a few years as they cannot be replaced. Thanks again to all the reviewers who wrote such detailed, enthusiastic reports that made me take a chance and buy this lamp.
