Doesn't work with polymer clay

I tried to mold it around an object I made with baked polymer clay but the shape never settled. It was sticky on the outside and extra sticky next to the polymer clay. When I pulled out the polymer clay, a layer of goo appeared with it. I mixed the clay with nitrile gloves, which I also use to mix polymer clay. To see if I made a bad batch, I made a mold out of a metal thimble using the same nitrile gloves and it also became a goo and collapsed. I'm thinking from Fimo residue on the gloves, although it could be the gloves themselves. Then he took off his gloves, washed his hands and made a mold out of a metal walnut and it came out perfect. As I had hoped. Firm yet flexible. Something like a soft eraser or a rubber textured rug. This is a good product and I will use it for other purposes than planned. Sculpey Bake and Bend might be the best solution for making polymer clay shapes. I would advise the manufacturer to point out in the instructions and description that modeling from polymer clay does not work.

Pros
  • It's quick, easy and safe
Cons
  • A few little things

Good with polymer clay, not so great for resin
