I really liked this item because it looked like it could hold anything including an ironing board. And that's how it was until we discovered that there's more to this topic than meets the eye. Or should I say eye level! After hanging it on the door and putting an ironing board on it, we found that the ironing board dragged across the floor. It seems that you must have a very high door to be able to use this item. We tried modifying the iron bracket above the door because I liked it a lot better than any of the others at this price point. However, it gave way due to the weight of the ironing board, and again the ironing board dragged across the floor as the door was moved from open to closed. We cannot return this item (because we modify it) and we cannot use this item. Great idea, but useless for doors that are about 82 inches or about 6 1/2 feet! A travel ironing board will do, but not a full-size ironing board.
