I have an early 2009 MacBook. This was the last generation that could only fit a 9.5mm drive, hence it is currently the drive with the largest capacity at this thickness. Driver fits perfectly. I cloned my original drive to this one and then installed it with no problems. I don't know why, but I haven't had any of the clicks or beachball issues that others have mentioned using this drive with a Mac. However, my click cycle was crazy. After about 4 hours my score was 417. To be honest I have no doubt that all the problems people have had with hard drives on Macs stem from this one problem. Google the HDAPM fix and you shouldn't have any problems. Even if you don't hear any clicks at all, I would recommend checking the cycle count. If you don't do this and it's high, your drive can fail in 9-12 months. This is one of the few instances where Apple complicates things. Anyway, this drive is big, installation was easy and with the HDAPM fix this drive is great.
